A sweet & tasty stir fry sauce

Sauce
 4 tbsp low histamine soy sauce substitute (see recipe link below)
 2 tbsp brown sugar
 1 tbsp distilled white vinegar*
 ½ tsp minced garlic
Thicken
 ½ tbsp water
 1 tsp cornstarch
Histamine Level: 1
 rated a 1 due to minced garlic & garlic in soy sauce substitute.
 *vinegar is a controversial ingredient. The SIGHI list has it rated a level 0, but they recommend using it sparingly. As always, use your own best judgment.

In a small saucepan over medium-low heat combine all the sauce ingredients and bring to a simmer.

Thicken

Combine water and cornstarch in a small glass or bowl. Whisk together and then pour half of it into the simmering pot.

Whisk and continue to simmer until the sauce thickens. Add more of the cornstarch mixture if you want it thicker.

Serve over meat, rice, & veggies!

This sauce freezes & thaws pretty well, it just might be a little thick when you warm it up again.

I love this sauce recipe because it's really simple to make if you have the substitute soy sauce in the freezer, which I usually do. It works out even better because I freeze my "soy sauce" in 1/4 c. serving sizes with this awesome silicone pan

I always enjoy having a new flavor and I hope you like this too! It works great for low histamine stir fry veggies like white onion, zucchini, bell peppers, broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, and green cabbage. I like it with turkey meatballs or chicken.

    Vinegar not only contains histamine but also stimulates your body to release histamine (18). Thus, individuals with a histamine intolerance may experience an array of side effects, ranging from mild to severe, after eating too much vinegar or other histamine-containing foods 🤔 how can this be low histermine when your using white vinegar?

      You bring up a great point. I rate my recipes according to the SIGHI list, which lists white vinegar as a zero, and to still use sparingly. I try to point out controversial or higher histamine ingredients, but I see I missed this one.
